Brow Waxing
New and Returning Clients
I cannot wax if you are using products on any part of your face that cause the skin to be more thin. This includes (but is not limited to) store bought creams containing retinols/retinol alternatives/certain acids, prescription skincare, medications from a dermatologist or doctor for your skin, Adapalene, Tazorac, Epiduo, Retin-A, Accutane, Tretinion, and other products that cause the skin to be more thin. Even if you aren't using these products in your brow area, they will likely still migrate under the skin and can effect the brow area from inches away. Please contact Lauren prior to booking if you are using any of these products.

Common skincare ingredients that can affect your skin's ability to be waxed : retinols, retinol alternatives (may not be listed directly on the ingredients list), vitamin c, vitamin a, lactic acid, glycolic acid, absorbic acid, kojic acid, citric acid, malic acid, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and other ingredients formulated for acne or anti-aging. Some of these ingredients may not affect your skin's ability to be waxed, but if you are unsure... let Lauren know at the beginning of your appointment & test patches can be done prior to your service.
These ingredients and products can make our skin look really great, but in combination with waxing can cause the skin to "lift" or become raw and irritated for the days/weeks following your appointment.
Brow Tinting
New and Returning Clients
Our tint is specifically formulated for brows (and lashes). If you have existing brow hair and would like to deepen the color or tint to add the look of fullness by tinting the hair and peach fuzz within the brows... this is the service for you. Tinting will last on the hair 4-6 weeks on average.

Our tint may stain the skin temporarily for 1-2 days for clients with dry skin, but is only made to last on the brow hair. If you notice any tint residue on your skin after leaving your appointment, gently exfoliate the skin with a wet wash cloth.
If you are looking to have your skin stained to create a shape where there isn't hair... this is likely not the service for you are needing.

You are able to tint your brows if you have microblading/nano or other forms of brow tattooing.

here is an example of a doctor's written approval
Certain health conditions may require doctor's approval to receive services or prevent you from receiving services.
Certain skin care products will need to be avoided before and after your cosmetic tattoo sessions.

Please read through the following & contact Lauren at (330)617-9106 with any questions prior to booking your appointment.
Always check with your doctor prior to stopping any medications.

You’ll be laying down for the majority of the procedure (usually between 1–3 hours).
You’ll also need to be able to sit up many times during the process (sometimes 15–20 times) so your brows look their best both laying down and upright, and also in between procedure steps.

Skin/Skincare

Certain skincare products can interfere with cosmetic tattooing and should be avoided for up to 6 weeks before and after your session. While anti-aging, color-correcting, and acne products can improve your skin’s appearance, they can also thin the skin, increase sensitivity, and impact pigment retention. Using these products before your session may lead to excessive damage or scarring, while using them afterward can cause premature exfoliation and uneven results. If you're unsure about the products you're using, please contact Lauren before booking your appointment. Additionally, bring a list of all skincare products you've used in the past 60 days to your appointment.

If you're unsure which products to use before or after your procedure, here are some cosmetic tattoo-friendly options:
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, CeraVe Foaming Face Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser, Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, CeraVe PM Lotion Face Moisturizer, CeraVe Oil Control Moisturizing Gel-Cream Face Moisturizer, CeraVe AM Lotion Face Moisturizer.

Preparing For Your Appointment
New and Returning Clients
Weeks/Months Before Your Appointment
-
If necessary, consult your doctor and obtain written approval for cosmetic tattooing.
-
Review all aftercare instructions on our Aftercare page to ensure you’re prepared to follow them fully after your appointment.
-
Discontinue use of any skincare products or treatments that may interfere with your tattooing according to the guidelines in the Medical/Skincare History section. Always check with your doctor before stopping any medications. Keep in mind that skincare products can migrate under the skin, affecting areas beyond where they are applied.
-
If you have chemical peels, medspa facial treatments, or at-home peels/exfoliants, stop these 4–12 weeks prior to your appointment.
-
Understand that healing varies with each client and appointment; an additional touch-up may be necessary and is not always predictable.

A Few Days Before Your Appointment
-
Avoid alcohol for 48 hours before your appointment, as it can thin your blood and affect healing.
-
Do not have any sunburn in your brow area prior to your appointment—if you do, we will need to reschedule.
-
Botox or fillers must be done at least 2 weeks apart from any brow tattooing services.
-
Blood thinners should be stopped 1–3 days prior to your appointment.
-
Supplements like fish oil or others that thin the blood should be stopped at least 5 days before your appointment.
-
Check all skincare products for ingredients such as retinol, retinol alternatives, glycolic acid, or lactic acid—these thin the skin and must be stopped before your appointment. See the Medical/Skincare History section for details.

The Day Of Your Appointment
-
Please bring a list of all skincare products used on any part of your face in the last 60 days—even if only applied once a week or on areas like the chin or cheeks. Also, bring a list of all medications you are currently taking or have stopped in the last three months.
-
Plan to spend up to 3 hours for new client or yearly refresher appointments, and up to 2 hours for any 6–12 week touch-ups.
-
Bring a valid government-issued ID (such as your driver’s license).
-
Allow an extra 15 minutes for traffic around the studio. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
-
Limit caffeine intake to no more than one cup of coffee (or equivalent) before your appointment. You may consume more afterward.
-
Avoid medications or supplements that thin the blood, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, etc.
-
Eat a small meal or bring a snack in case you feel lightheaded during the procedure or from lidocaine use.

The Procedure & What To Expect
For New Clients & Returning Clients (Touch-Ups After 6+ Months)

Your appointment will begin with a brief check-in, including some paperwork and the application of a topical numbing cream (lidocaine). Please bring a valid photo ID — we’ll take a picture of it and attach it to your file.

While the numbing sets (about 15-18 minutes), your artist will walk you through the procedure and answer any questions you have. This is the perfect time to share your brow goals — feel free to bring photos of shapes, colors, or styles you love (or want to avoid).

Next, we’ll remove the numbing, take your before photos, clean up any stray hairs using a small facial razor, and begin mapping your brows.
During the mapping process, your artist may use a combination of tools such as string, pencils, a ruler, or caliper to outline the brow shape. This outline shows exactly where your strokes will go, so you’ll have a clear visual before we begin. Mapping can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes (or occasionally longer).

Once the shape is approved, we’ll discuss pigment options. While we can show swatches on your skin, please note that these aren't a perfect preview — pigments typically fade by 10–30% during healing. Lauren always errs on the side of caution, aiming for a softer healed result that can be deepened at your touch-up. For returning clients, pigment choices will be based on how your brows have healed and whether you’d like to adjust color, depth, or warmth.

When you're happy with the plan, we'll begin the tattooing process, applying a second layer of numbing to keep you as comfortable as possible. This part of the appointment typically takes 60 to 120 minutes.

After the tattooing is complete, your artist will hand you a mirror so you can see your new brows! If you'd like to add anything to your brows or have questions about healing or your upcoming touch-up, now is the time to ask. After photos will also be taken. (If you prefer not to have your photos shared on social media or our website, no worries — just opt out on your paperwork. We still take before and after photos for our internal records but fully respect your privacy.)

For Returning Clients (6–12 Week Touch-Ups)

The process for 6-12 week touch ups is very similar to new clients and 6+ month appointments, but is a much shorter appointment. You will still need to fill out the same paperwork, so please make sure to bring your ID with you to this appointment as well.
We will still use both layers of lidocaine, we will map any areas we need to, make adjustments to shape by adding to in any areas we need to, and we can always go darker or adjust the warmth/ashiness of your pigment tone.
